Alameda Hemskirke is an old California seedling originating in Alameda county and propagated by Leonard Coates of Morgan Hill. It was grown in the Santa Clara Valley for many years as an equivalent to the old Moorpark variety in flavor and quality. It's often marked with scratches and speckles. Once of the best flavored of the apricots grown in California.
